Jerry Pubantz

Dr. Jerry Pubantz is Director of the Lloyd International Honors College and Professor of Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His writings include works on American foreign policy, the Middle East, Arab and Islamic affairs, the United Nations, international civil society and democratization, and U.S.-Russian Relations. He is the co-editor of the Encyclopedia of the United Nations, now in its second edition. He is also the co-author of "The New United Nations: International Organization in the 21st Century" and "To Create a New World? American Presidents and the United Nations". He was honored with Choice Magazine’s Outstanding Academic Title Award for 2000 by the American Library Association.

Dr. Pubantz appears regularly on local, national, and foreign media, including Radio Canada International and Sahar TV in Iran, to discuss American foreign policy and Middle East affairs. For several years he served as National Education Consultant to the Middle East Policy Council and directed the Council’s Teacher Workshops on the Arab World and Islam. He holds a Ph.D. from Duke University, and his Bachelor’s degree from the Foreign Service School at Georgetown University.
