| Fred Sherry
A pioneer and visionary in the music world, cellist Fred Sherry has introduced audiences on five continents and all 50 states to the music of our time, from Berio and Carter to Wuorinen and Zorn.
He has been an active performer with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center since the 1970s, an Artist Member since 1984 and was the Society’s Artistic Director from 1988 to 1992. He’s been a guest at most major chamber festivals including Casals, Tanglewood, Spoleto, Chamber Music Northwest and the Mostly Mozart Festival.
He is currently a member of the cello faculty at the Juilliard, Mannes and Manhattan schools of music in New York City. He has been a soloist and "sideman" on hundreds of commercial and esoteric recordings on labels from Columbia and Koch to RCA and Vanguard.
