DESCRIPTION:Three Sarasota Orchestra musicians perform and share an in-depth discussion of musician wellness. Playing an instrument at an elite level is akin to being a professional athlete. The stresses on the body and mind are constant, and musicians must continually monitor their physical and emotional health to remain in top performing condition. In addition to her performing career, Meghan Jones holds certifications in Integrative Nutrition, Behavior Change, and Personal Training, and has worked with multiple Sarasota Orchestra musicians to address the physical and psychological challenges of constant high-level performance. Principal Harp Phoebe Powell and Principal Viola Stephanie Block perform and join Meghan to discuss how they maintain their bodies through the rigors of classical performance.\n \n
