Charles Schudson

A law professor and Wisconsin Reserve Judge Emeritus, Judge Charles B. Schudson has served as a state and federal prosecutor and as a trial and appellate judge. He has served on the faculties of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and the National Judicial College. He served as an international observer for the 2006 Venezuelan presidential election.

He and his wife Karen, a psychotherapist, created "Healing the Healers," a program they have presented for judges, police, social workers, nurses and others coping with the personal impact of working with cases of child sexual abuse.

Judge Schudson's published works include (On Trial: America's Courts and Their Treatment of Sexually Abused Children (Beacon Press), and Independence Corrupted: How America's Judges Make Their Decisions (University of Wisconsin Press), a nominee for the 2018 National Book Award.

Judge Schudson is also an Arizona hiking guide and Search & Rescue volunteer. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Wisconsin Law School.
