Charles Schudson

Judge Charles B. Schudson is pleased to return to SILL after last year's presentations of "How America's Judges Really Make Their Decisions". A law professor and Wisconsin Reserve Judge Emeritus, Judge Schudson has served as a state and federal prosecutor, a trial and appellate judge, and a law professor and Fulbright Scholar. He has taught at law schools and professional conferences throughout the world and served as an international observer for the 2006 Venezuelan presidential election.

Judge Schudson's published works include On Trial: America's Courts and Their Treatment of Sexually Abused Children, and Independence Corrupted / How America's Judges Make Their Decisions, which was nominated for the National Book Award. He has been a featured guest on NPR, PBS, and Oprah. He and Karen, his bride of over fifty years, have two children and four (amazing, of course) grandchildren.

Judge Schudson is also an Arizona hiking guide and Search & Rescue volunteer. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Wisconsin Law School.
