Hot Club SRQ
Jazz Trio
About Speaker
Hot Club SRQ Trio brings the timeless spirit of Gypsy Jazz to life, deeply rooted in the tradition of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Their sound swings effortlessly, blending elegance, romance, and high-energy improvisation in the classic style of “Jazz Manouche” and “Le Jazz Hot,” inspired by the legendary Quintette du Hot Club de France.
At the heart of the ensemble is the expressive violin and vocals of Keven Aland, joined by the dynamic guitar work of Jon McLaughlin and the driving bass of Glenn Stevenson. Together, they create a sound that has been thoughtfully cultivated over more than a decade, marked by warmth, chemistry, and authenticity.
The trio can swing with fiery intensity, then shift seamlessly into a mesmerizing, lyrical ballad. Beyond traditional Gypsy Jazz, they are known for their inventive arrangements of a diverse repertoire, creating a rich, genre-spanning musical experience.
Hot Club SRQ performs regularly throughout the Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida region, including Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, and Naples. The group appears at jazz clubs, universities and colleges, festivals, as well as for esteemed organizations, such as the Sarasota Concert Association, the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, the Asolo Repertory Theatre, and the Palladium Theater.
