As a renowned saxophonist and woodwind performer, Peter’s journey began in education as a middle school band director before he entered a 20-year career with the United States Air Force premier jazz ensemble, the Airmen of Note, in Washington, D.C. During his tenure, he held the lead tenor saxophone chair and spent the last nine years as musical director, leading the ensemble through countless missions, national tours, and international performances.
With the Airmen of Note, Peter performed with jazz luminaries, including Dizzy Gillespie, JJ Johnson, Michael and Randy Brecker, and Ernie Watts. As a civilian musician, he’s shared the stage with icons like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Johnny Mathis, and many other legendary artists.
Following his service, Peter brought his expertise to music publishing as an instrumental jazz editor for Warner Bros. Publications, and later for Alfred Music, a role he continues part-time. In 2017, Peter relocated to Venice, Florida, where he continues his work in music editing and with a busy performance schedule. Pete occasionally performs with the Venice Symphony Orchestra and is the musical director of the Venice Symphony Big Band.
