Peter Singer

Dr. Peter W. Singer is a Strategist at New America, a professor of practice at Arizona State University, and a Principal at Useful Fiction LLC. Previously he was Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, where he was Director of the Center for 21st Century Security and Intelligence. He was described in The Wall Street Journal as "the premier futurist in the national- security environment" and the Smithsonian named him one of the nation's 100 leading innovators.

Dr. Singer's non-fiction books include Corporate Warriors: The Rise of the Privatized Military Industry (2003), Wired for War: The Robotics Revolution and Conflict in the 21st Century (2009); Cybersecurity and Cyberwar: What Everyone Needs to Know (2014) and LikeWar: the Weaponization of Social Media (2018).

He is also co-author of new type of novel, a technothriller used to communicate nonfiction research. Ghost Fleet: A Novel of the Next World War (2015) led to briefings everywhere from the White House to the Pentagon. His latest is Burn-In: A Novel of the Real Robotic Revolution (2020).

Dr. Singer received his B.A. from Princeton University and his Ph.D. from Harvard University.
