Lina Tori Jan serves as a Policy Officer at the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security' and leads the Institute's Afghanistan initiative, Onward for Afghan Women, elevating and supporting Afghan women leaders with opportunities to continue their advocacy. Shaped by her experiences as an Afghan woman raised in Afghanistan, Ms. Tori Jan has worked around the globe with companies, NGOs, and governments, assisting in their efforts to create a more just society. She also serves on the Board of RefugePoint, an international NGO that supports refugees in more than 30 countries, and as an Advisor to the Oxford Character Project, lending expertise in values-based leadership. Ms. Tori Jan recently joined the Executive Board of Advisors of the Jepson School of Leadership at the University of Richmond where she graduated with a B.A. in leadership studies and political science in 2020. She attended graduate school as a Jepson Scholar at the University of Oxford, where she earned a master's degree in public policy. Her work has been featured on NBC's The Today Show, BBC, ABC, CBS, NPR, and in The Washington Post. |
